Yup is a direct fit, put on your flywheel and clutch of choice and bolt it in. should be a nice engine for a savage or any other monster truck out there....

The ofna force engine is the exact same engine as a f4.6 that's stock in all savage x4.6 rtr trucks. So yep its a direct fit and the pull starts and one way bearings will work on it.

It's hard to break an engine in in the cold. Basically you want to make sure the engine gets to over 200 degrees f. But still run it rich. I usually use the top part of a sock on a cool day to help keep temps up, but if its cold or windy try using aluminum foil. Check your temperatures often during the break in. Also preheat the motor so it will start.

?? I broke in my f4.6 and it barely broke 100 degrees the whole time. It lasted for almost 7 gallons. I think I'll just wrap the whole engine tightly in tin foil. It won't be cold because it is stored inside.

Well I got news for ya man, if the engine doesnt get up to operating temp it will never break in right, normal operating temp for a nitro engine is anywhere from 200 degrees to 270 degrees... let it get up to temp especially during break in and it will run better and last longer too....I aint seen the wrap the whole engine in foil done before maybe if ya can post up a vid on how it goes.....

Okay I am going to wrap the whole head tightly and heat it up with a powerful hairdryer as its idling.
Now since its cold out, should I richen it from stock settings to compensate, or should I just leave it where it is for break in?

Leave it at stock or lean it a small amount to make it stay running.

Got the engine today! :getdown:
Got it all installed and broke it in in 30-40 degree weather. Runs great!!! Actually got pretty hot with the head covered in tin foil.
Thats how you break in an engine in michigan....driving through the snow. Literally.

i did a breakin on a novarossi and a picco this fall when it was 45 degrees. definately had to wrap the head with a rag to get them to the 200 degree mark. didnt need a temp gun, could tell by performance when they were at their breakin temp. but being wrapped, they would heat up, being not wrapped, too cold.
