resetting the needles is a good idea. I am not an engine tuning expert, and someone please chime in, cause if I am wrong I will delete this post. IMO, the lsn may be a little to rich because of the gurgling and trail of smoke when punching it out of the hole. Because of this the idle is turned up to give the motor more air the truck to run like it did while idling. The HSN is too lean because there is no visible smoke at the higher rpms. Hope this helps you out.
 
I spent a lot of time trying to retune the engine and it just never seemed to want to cooperate. The tuning would change very fast. So i suspect it might be caused by an air leak. So today i went out and got everything i need to seal the engine. I followed the instructions on this forums(made things really simple) Anyways, while taking the cb apart, i notice one of the clutch shoes completely broken in half!!! I was just like WOW, i didn't know this could happen, especially with nearly brand new clutch shoes. These things had maybe 4 tanks through them. So anyways i'm going to purchase new clutch shoes. Anyways which one should i get? This will be the first non hpi part i put on this truck, so will i have to do any modification to these shoes? Which one is easiest to install and requires less work. I just want something that wont break and is a quality part, i don't want to constantly be changing clutch shoes.
 
I purchased the Ofna Aluminum Clutch Shoes Blue CNC (3) from towerhobbies this morning so once i get those i'll be able to put everything back and finally run my savage again. Unfortunately non of my LHS had this or any of the other CB's in stock.

I'll keep everyone posted, hopfully everything works out good.

Are you sure its a leak and not mid tank lean? Not that it can't happen but a mill with 4 tanks is normally good unless you had torn it apart B4.

This is all getting very complicated. Get your clutch sorted first, cus I suspect that's had a lot to do with it, then go back to the link I gave you and try again.

Ok guys, i know it has been a while, but here is the final update with some very good news.

I sealed the engine and then did a complete retune of the engine and tranny.

The result: One very fast and stable savvy that wheelies on demand!!!!

The tuning is very stable now, i don't constantly have to retune. The car has a lot more power, better take off and top end. The tranny shifts like its supposed to. Finally, i got my wheelies back with the 18/47 cb and spur setup.

I'll have a video posted soon so you guys can see.

Anyways, I also wanted to thank everyone for your help. I could not have done it without you guys, so thanks again!
