Latest update. Once warmed up and primed engine starts first time no problem. Idles ok through a whole tank. Thing I don’t get is that the motor is still running exceptionally rich. I have leaned it at least a turn and a half from factory settings. The max engine temp is 52degC and one tank produces this much exhaust oil. I can only think factory default is waaaaay too rich.

factory setting is just a base to get it to start, then you need to tune for optimal power and running

Latest update. Starts and runs no problem. But, I am leaning her out way leaner than factory settings, ( Engine is brand new), and still the temps are only around 50degC. I can put my hand on the head whilst running. Even if revved up temps don’t get above 50c. How low do I have to go on the main needle.

Usually harder to keep temp down when breaking a tight engine in, are you running 20 or 25% nitro & what g/plug are you using?

factory settings are just that, you may have to lean out (the big needle at the top by the carb inlet) possibly a turn and a half, but just lean out (clockwise) 1/8 of a turn at a time until you have power but mind you should always still have a smoke trail at wot whilst driving
