I've only had my savage for about a week now and i've noticed the half tank lean problem. I've tried some of the tricks on here and none seem to work and I don't wanna swap to mid mount. So it seems the only fix is to install the ONFA tank, But looking around on New Era site I came across this http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?part_id=1704 it seems easier to install. So my question is Has anyone tried this? And does this little conversion stop the half tank lean problem?

That's the first time iv seen that set up ..
It's 100% up to you, For only $20 the problem will be gone, but with the OFNA 250cc mid tank you can spend just a tab over $20 :lmao:
But with the OFNA 250cc you get 250cc's of fuel instead of the stock tank witch is 160cc and that new era models tank 125cc..

here is a breif idea on what you need for the OFNA 250cc mid tank ::

FLM45100 - Extended LCG TVP's - $60
FLM45110 - Extended Skid Plate - $14
FLM45700 - Motor Plate - $11
FLM46000 - Servo Mounts x2 - $8 /ea
FLM47000 - TVP Brace x2 - $3 /ea
FLM48000 - Drag Link - $7.50
RPM80052 - Receiver Box - $9.49
ASC89005 - Antenna Mount - $9.49
OFN10270 - Fuel Line Clips - $3.79
OFN19504 - 250cc Fuel Tank - $14.99
OFN30287 - Tank Posts - $4.79
OFN10721 - Linkage Kit - Yellow - $7.59
OFN10701 - Linkage Sliders - Yellow - $2.89
HCAM2000 - Servo Extension - $4.29
HPI100323 - Rush Battery Box - $7.69
PRC125 - 250cc Mid-Tank Plate - $34.80
PRC180 - Rush Battery Box Plate - $8.00

see just a tab over $20 haha..
but in the end you will get the looks and the performance ..

i have this tank and yes it really helped the half tank lean problem for me anyway, it is a good quality tank and comes with the brass fuel nipples to install which is a nice touch and all the hardware to mount it,plus the tank is "channeled" to divert the fuel right to the fuel outlet so you get a smooth consistent flow of fuel... .but be aware the tank is only 125cc and the stock one is 160cc so your run times per tank will be a bit less but my savage x ran great right through the whole tank after installing this tank just like the bigger run times so I'm not using it!!!!!
