Ok, I was wondering because I've heard several times that the bigger engines run better on at least 25% so that's why I was thinking about more nitro.

So you have no issues running 20%
 
I have been using Sidewinder Basher blend 20% nitro 16% oil in all my engines for about 4 years now and I love it, plus is no after run needed... my engines stay free even after sitting for long periods of time unlike some other fuels which gum up and leave residue inside...
Tuning seems to be easier also and the engines run cooler and thats always a good thing in my book....
 
I get mine from the Hobby shop in sonoma county, I think he gets it from horizon hobby but am not sure,but I am sure any good local hobby shop can get a supply for ya to buy, sidewinder buys its fuel from Morgan fuels, they also make many of the other blends out there, Odonnels is also morgan fuels, I found sidewinder a long time ago and it works so thats what I use 🙂 I see no reason to change...
 
well we all know the manufacturer knows best, but I do it my way, which is very similar to the heat cycle method, I bring it above 200 for a few minutes running rich driving circles and doing short bursts with a bit of throttle, not full throttle as yet and shut off and let cool with the piston at bdc, I do that several times all the while leaning my top end a bit till I hear it start to loosen up and start to run freer, after i do that about 10 times for 2 mins per run, I set the low end and idle to my liking and let the thing do what it is gonna do.....
 
Getting ready to go to 2 birthday parties, this is how it sits now....got the fuel tank mounted and plumbed, all the electronics are wired, linkages set and tested, end points set....waiting on my brake pads to come in the mail, still have to put the dog bones in and set the alignment.





 
It needs a some tires, but it did start up.....and I already ordered 3 more receivers for the gt3c for this and my other savage. It's so simply put together....ought to be a relatively cheap build.
 
Good lil truck there Joe, you are right they are fairly basic to build and maintain, but they can be a ball to run.....
 
My last part came in today, so this is what I have built.....it's still naked without a lid, but I think I did well for my first....If it don't rain for the rest of the week, I'll get it broke in. I'm going to do this in sets of 6 so be patient

Lol I thought the same thing...... Now it needs to hit 88 mph lol.
