New ss5.9

Please, you know that is user error 🙂

Besides, if it really failed in under an hour on its own, I am positive HPI would send you a new one no questions asked... At which point you could sell it on ebay for $150 and buy something better, haha, nice 🙂

OK here are the first pics, nothing you all haven't already seen before, haha.

Truck, as far is it is gonna be until other parts arrive. (actually some of what you seen here is actually get replaced to)

The infamous 5.9 that everybody hates 🙂

A pair BP diffs waiting to be filled and dropped in. SHD outdrives, axles and dogbones. (if you look close you can see my little blood blister from pinching my finger in the weights at the gym, haha)

I would rather have the FLM Xl length tvp's if they are lcg, but I cna't find to much info on them yet. I'd like to do a mid tank behind the motor, so I can keep the stock radio box up front.

We don't hate the 5.9 just trying to look out for people there are options that will save peeps money in the end and give them a better experence in the end. But at the same time the 5.9 works ok and provides fun and that's what matters to most in the end anyway

I didn't know they made XL length tvp's, the only ones I've seen are the regular length and extended. Let us know what you find out.

A mid tank behind the motor the only tank i see you being able to use is the 75cc from the rs4 or something, which run times would be horrible. Unless you have some other tricks? 🙂

Keep us posted bud! I love watching projects come together 🙂

Maybe that is just a regular length tvp but they just call it XL cause it is thicker than stock? I would think just using the HD would be sufficient though, and they wouldn't need to call it an XL HD?

Well, it looks like the basic regular length stock replacement is a different part number (45000 instead of the XL which is 45600) so maybe it really is an XL length?

Your right, they are differant part numbers. But don't get 45000 if you want lcg.
45000 is a reg length - stock center of gravity (replaces stock 25 tvp)
45200 is a reg length - lcg
45100 is ext length - lcg
45600 guess xl length - guessing stock center of gravity (doesn't say lcg) I'd say that these are like the 45000 (stock25) tvps---stock setup just stonger

Also it says ext is 17.5mm shorter than XL tvp (on the 45100 ext lcg info)
Manufacturer: FastLane Machine
Part#: FLM45100
Extended Low Center of Gravity TVP Details

•Machined from billet 6061 aluminum
•4.7mm (.187") thick for extreme abuse
•.500 lower center of gravity(extended 40mm longer than original tvp)
•Driveshaft with lifetime warranty
•Seperate kits available
•Fits all platforms
•TVP is 17.5mm shorter than the XL tvp

You might want to go ahead and shoot them an email bud. I know you wanted LCG so make sure you are getting what you want.

Let us know 🙂

Flm ext 1.6 inches xl is 1.9 inches longer than stock.

Yeah, I know the difference between those two. It looks like FLM may be making two different ext versions... one regular ext length and another xl ext length.

Yep, this is the one I am wondering about. I figure it is what you are thinking as well. Basically the same as the 45000 but in XL length replica.

I sent them an email a while back, hold on I'll show ya the results 🙂

Me:

I would like to buy a ext lcg tvp set of my savage and a motor plate, but I can;t find them anywhere. Is there anywhere that has your stuff in stock?

Also, is the XL tvp lcg as well or is it exactly the same as stock? Do you have pictures of it yet?

Thanks!
Aaron

Did you try
www.rc-monster.com
or www.rcbros.com
I ship directly for rc bros
As for pics what we have available is on the site, but we are currently updating the site again, and he may be putting more pics on there.
If you can't get the parts through these guys, let me know
Thanks

It probably isn't LCG, but man the extra 17mm might help with the rear mid tank 🙂

OK, I am turning this into a basher, that I will race occasionally. Realistically time will most likely not allow me to hit the track as much as I like, but there is a huge park right across the street from me.

I plan on winning races with driving skill 🙂 haha

One piece or in a straight line... better yet both, haha.

I meant I'm goona race with the truggies and win though, haha 🙂

Well, I thought this was a XL length TVP, but maybe I'm wrong. There is no picture so??

When I spoke to them on the phone because I had to notch my tvp for the cb to fit, anyways they said that the xl hd tvp's are the exact same as the xl tvp's but just thicker. I said I didn't see it on there sire and they said it was the one with no picture. So the one you linked is the same length as the xl and the ext lcg tvp's are the ext one's from a standard length. I didn't even knew they made xl hd ones until I spoke with them. So you want to get the flm ext lcg tvp's. Hope this helps. Oh they also said they would be updating there site and I spoke to them over a month ago. Looks like he's a little behind. i forgot the guys name but he was the guy who makes them. Terry

I did that frddyj and it did not work still. Just barely hit it so I called them to see if my warranty was still good if i notched the tvp and they said yes. Terry

EDIT: They had said many people have to do this.

yeah, I spoke with them a bunch about the stuff. Mike at rc-monster as well...

I should have my XL HD ones here anyday. They are not lcg, but they are drilled for all the mid tank stuff. After I looked at both for a long time I decided that for what I was doin I'd give these a try and see whats up 🙂

Mike got his pictures up, here is the link. I'll have a picture of mine in a couple days though, installed. Mike sent me a few pictures, each side and stuff. On his site it is just one picture of the two stacked up.

Really like the look of that. So it's the same length but not lcg. It's still a good tvp and with the mid tank holes and stuff already set up on it, it will be a good build. Terry

Yep, not lcg, but xl length and drilled for the mid tank. It has holes for the servo plate, holes for the steering servo for mounting under the servo plate. It is also drilled for chassis braces to go across at the bottom for a skid plate (course a striaght skid won't work, but no biggie). The back is notched out for the stock fuel tank, but I have an idea for a forward mid tank with the servo underneath and then a new custom molded plastic reciever/battery/throttle servo box in the rear that will utilize the space where the tvp is notched for the stock position tank, and the area behind the engine. We'll see how it all works out, haha.
