Hey guys i stripped my last 2 47t spurs with the double pads on them and i went to LHS and got 20 spurs (@ $2.50 ea) and at first i didn't see that they were the single padded ones .. so i was like what the hey .. so i popped in the brass spacer and set it all up tighten the nut down and started the truck and took off as i turned around and to come back the mill started to scream and the truck wasn't going any where and i was like NNOOOOO !!
I thought it was the tranny or some thing .. i ran out picked it up and seen the spur turning but not the shaft to the tranny wasn't ... :dunno:
so now why is the spur turning but not the shaft going into the tranny ??

Here is the set up ::

Spur w/ brass spacer > hexed washer > spring > washer > nut ..

Thanks

did you forget the slipper pad on the back side of spur or the pin that gose through the shaft

does the back side of the the spur gear look ok? you may want to check the steal washer that goes to the sliper

You got to seriously lock dsown that nut. The slipper disc might not be lines up in the nipples on the peice that slides over the pin. Put a new slpper in and try it. I rarly strip a spur gear or have any problems.

Yes the very first plate with the pin in it is lined up with the rubber piece in the middle and 2nd plate is there .. it's a new pad but i can't get a good grip to tighten the nut down ..

for some reason Allan's reply didn't show up here but i got it in my email, here is what he said ::

If I read this right, you may be missing the ring that goes between that plate with the pin and the slipper pad. It has two holes that line up with the pins on that plate

Now that you mention it, i think I'm missing it :lmao:

I deleted it after I posted it because after I re-read it, I thought I had actually read it wrong....lol Hope it helps out.

Ok so if this helps, this is how i have set the spur up ::
