new motor for savage 25

Hello I'm new to this forum and to my savage and i need a new motor any sugestions? I'm looking in the 200$ range

Welcome KO. There are several excellent choices in that price range. prob want to ask yourself what your experience level is, how you will use the savage & if you race or bash or both. Bud of mine bought a used 25 $50.00, dropped an HPI 4.1 in it for $149.00 and it runs killer for what he does. he is a basher. plenty of power & very reliable.

Some of the best motors currently for the buck is the LRP Spec3 and the Picco P3. both are great motors and are .28's. The Picco will be built better but is about $30 more. The LRP will be around $170 and the Picco $200.

The Picco is very powerful and as much as I love the Picco I have to admit the Picco is an advanced motor and not really appropriate for novice users unless they have an experienced tuner there to help them....... A LRP Spec 3 is likely a much better choice for a first upgrade motor then a Picco 28........ Another option I can recommend is a Mach 427, you can buy them cheap, they tune easy and will offer a huge performance increase over the current .25 you run.....

ok everyone thanx alot for the advice, ill have to check those motors out now when i change the motor do i need to cange any other part of the drivetrain or will it all work together w/ a aftermarket motor?
