new F4.6 head looking like it won't fit. HELP

I picked this head up online because my stock head was thrashed from owner before me. I went to install it on my motor but it acts like the bottom of cooling head hits the block of the motor. So feel like it would not tighten down properly. Did they change the block on the F4.6 at some point in time? Posting I bought this from said would fit Savage x 4.6.

The engine in your truck is a f4.6? caz there are 2 4.6 engines out there the K4.6 and the f4.6 and I don't think parts are interchangeable between these 2 engines.....

I know the difference between the f4.6 and k4.6 they have totally different blocks and cooling heads. But what I'm wondering is if they changed the f4.6 at all. Because feel like this head is lower and bigger around on bottom than my other one.

OK Cool, do ya have the engine out of the truck? I have one here with the purple head and is a f 4.6 also, not sure about the head you are putting on, but by everything I see it outta fit fine..... do ya have pics of the head bottom and side pics of both heads and buttons ? it would possibly help to have a clear set of pics to see exactly what you are referring to in your questions...

The cooling head you have is from the V2 F4.6. The engine you have (purple head) is the V1 F4.6 If you look at the link below you will see that among other things, the crankcase was updated for the V2. There is a good possibility these parts are not interchangeable.

Thats good to know, I forgot about the upgrades HPI did to the 4.6

That's exactly what i think going on! After some more looking around found out they updtaed the F4.6. Thanks guys for your help!

You can de-anodize the stock purple head then use a power sander or grinder to remove the scratches on the top of the head then polish it. If you feel like it.
