Need to solve engine problem

so I was running my car and it cut out as if it was out of fuel but still had lots of fuel so I tried starting it again and it wouldn’t start I went to a specialist and he said it may be my starting pin but I think it’s my one way bearing can someone help me I have a savage 4.6 ss

Roto or pull? Does the flywheel turn when you try to start it?

The stock K4.6 engine comes with a OWB that has a pin on it that goes into the end of the crank, so either of you could be right. If that pin sheered off, or if the OWB is slipping badly, it won't turn the engine over.

And as I stated, you are going to have to teardown the at least a bit to find and repair the trouble, Taking your rig to a "specialist" does you no good at all when said "specialist" is nowhere around when you have trouble...... so with that said you are best served to learn for yourself and save the headache of waiting on someone else to repair your broken rig.....

Is the crank turning when you try to start it? If so its not the oneway or pin.

If not then youll need to pull the backplate off and check out the oneway. Sometimes a cleaning is all it needs.

If the crank turns, check the glow plug. If its shot, whst do the coils look like.

If its good then i suspect a lean condition.
