Need some unique project ideas :)

OK, I have been slowly equipping my garage to be able to be used more for fabrication, and I have been thinking about different things I can do for my next project. I am considering ressurecting the 4WS monster, but I am less into that project now that I have my Baja...

So - give me some ideas! What do you think I should do next?

In the last few months I've:

1. Rebuilt an 8ight 1.0
2. Turned that 8ight into a Subaru Rally car
3. Rebuilt a Savage 21 3-4 times (lol) into an FLM-equipped racer
4. Rebuilt a Savage 25 into an XL-based rig with my son.
5. Built an E-Revo for my g/f's daughter

I've also started fabbing up all sorts of goodies - custom parts for the 4WS rig, protective stuff for both the Baja and the Savage, servo mounts, etc...

... I need to come up with something different. I have seen a lot of things others are doing, both commercially and shade-tree mechanic, and I don't want to steal anyone's ideas...

I am afraid to see what you guys come up with, but let's here some ideas - REALISTIC ones tho - and nothing that requires paint 🙂 I SUCK at painting, and have no artistic sense whatsoever 🙂

This could be VERY interesting 🙂

So lets get a few ideas together, and then I'll put up a poll and you guys can pick the next project - I'll document it here for the site, and hopefully make something useful out of it all. And if we can figure something out, I'll try to get it done in time to bring it to the MT WF.

ive been thinking about building a dedicated hill climber, something 4wd, nitro with a cage like a rock crawler
we have some huge sand piles in the pits and me and a few buddies have been thinking it would fun to have hillclimb comps.
sick engines, paddle tires....awesome!
when I'm done with my savage builds, this will be my next project
i have a set of axles and tranny from a kyosho mad force already waiting for this build

I have an idea bob. 🙂 Still have the plans for both the rail car and the jet car. Thinking we should combine them into one Jet powered rail car.

I like the hill climber idea - maybe... I do want to use Savage parts - not only do I have a ton if them, but this IS a Savage/HPI site 🙂. I was thinking about maybe using the Hellfire components in this new project - maybe use a 2-speed trans connecting to the Hellfire center diff - dunno... Or, cut down a set of 21 diff housings so that the drive shaft goes all the way through, put Kongs on it, and make it amphibious 🙂. Put my Truckzilla .46 in it... Muahahah 🙂. If that works, maybe 8 wheels, two fixed rear axles, two front steering axles....

Anyone know offhand what the transmission gear ratios are in a stock Savage are, just so i can try to make this happen? Also, if anyone has any 21 style diff housings they want to donate to the cause, let me know!

OK, I just picked up a Hellfire roller for a good price - it will give me spare parts for my other Hellfire as well as give me some good running gear... maybe put the center diff into a savage? I keep thinking back to Mickey's SideWinder - gonna have to think about that!

go for it bob i will rebuild mine someday. it was a great truck i just used to thick aluminum on it so it was heavy. but other then that it was great.
