Found this story going through the space section of the Houston Chronicle.

Me personally I think the Space Shuttle was a huge waste of money. The Saturn V Rocket was the most powerful heavy lift rocket in history… The Saturn rockets put a dozen Americans on the moon… What has the Shuttle done, put a telescope in space that didn’t work at first, and need constant repair and upgrades… A space station that doesn’t do anything… I mean put some lasers or some movie projectors on the thing so we can watch movies from the earths surface….lol
During the Apollo missions two astronauts lost there life’s during a test. The engineers at NASA at the time Made sure that would not happen again, and it didn’t... sure there is Apollo 13, but they went around the moon and back to earth safely….
The Space Shuttle has Killed 14 astronauts… 7 times as many as the Apollo missions, and this was because of arrogant engineers thinking they knew it all…. A bad O-ring killed 7 people on the Challenger, oh and if you read the NASA report on that one, at least 4 of them were still alive until the cockpit of the shuttle slammed into the ocean off the coast of Florida…. Oh then there is Columbia… NASA insisted that Foam could not pierce the hull of the shuttle. Well the hull is made up of brittle Carbon/Carbon tiles with an aluminum skin underneath… but hey they are engineers they know everything… 7 people burned alive… God bless every single every one of them….
Now NASA wants to spend Billions on designing a new rocket to go back to the moon and Mars…. UM HELLO you already have a rocket that has put people on the moon, and is proven… it’s called the Saturn V use it…….
So yeah my rant is done….
