First, let me start with, this is my FIRST HPI truck (savage w/hpi.25).I have 3 LST2's (please don't bash me for being a Losi guy)

I bought the truck used and with the exception of this small issue, have been otherwise happy with it.
Now on to my problem.
As i am trying to track down why my truck wont tune, i came across the following...... i tightened up a VERY loose back plate(airleak)
I tightened the carb pinch bolt less than half a turn.
The fuel tank passed the pressure test with soapy water
Then, for some reason i decided to focus on the carb itself.......... if i blow air(with my mouth on the fuel hose to the carb) and i cover both the carb inlet and outlet holes, i notice that the silicone carb shaft billow starts to fill with air. Keep in mind, that with a different finger, i am holding the carb slide from moving with the air that i blow in. Is this supposed to happen? or do i have an air leak?

If this was confusing, please let me know and i will try to explain it a different way.

Easy with the language on the forum this is a family oriented forum. Take this as a warning. I will remove the Symbols as we try to stay away from them as well.

As far as the air leak I'm sorry to hear your problems but at least they seem to be fairly simple to fix. No the Carb shouldn't leak but could a touch with out having the oil from the fuel and so on run through it. Also, if its a fresh motor it may take a bit of run time to seal properly.

PS>Welcome aboard and we are glad to have ya.

I am a little confused with your question, but welcome to the forum. And NOTHING wrong with LOSI stuff. Most of us here own something LOSI as well.

Welcome to the site. As for the boot. put a bead of ultra copper around both sections of the boot. you will not get a tight seal in this area with some motors do to the fact that there is no way to seal it internally. It also has to move free so there is a gap where air escapes. But ultra copper is what i used to seal both ends of the boot and no problems since.
