Well guys, I splashed out on some new rims and tyres. the good old Goliath and blast wheels!!

The only downside is I think I might need a very high torque steering servo, and possibly a new clutch, these things are so big and heavy.

Anyone got any positive comments about them??!!

Nice man! I'm thinking i'm going to get the Goliaths also but I'm going to go with the Tremor wheels in black. I like that blacked out look. I have the black/orange XL and still run the stock body for now but I think that wheel combo will look sweet. Keep us updated on how the wheels are working for you I'd like to hear if you like them or not before I make the investment. I don't know what servos come on your truck but they advertise the XL's as being "high torque" so I don't think that will be a problem for me, the terra-pins on it are pretty big and very grippy and it turns those no problem. Good luck with yours!

Yeah I'll keep you posted. I wasn't too sure at first, but they're growing on me!!!

So long as they handle ok, then I'm happy. Was getting p'd off with changing the stock tyres, the ballooning was getting me down, these are supposed to be better on that score.

Hopefully do a run this weekend, will let you know

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Yeah I would not be surprised if they break something, the truck is a lot heavier now!!!

Will see how it goes!

Well I don't know really. BUT, I took it out for a spin today, they don't balloon that's for sure!!! all I will say is that the steering was a little vague, so I need a high torque servo, then I guess it's see how it goes. But so far i'm very pleased with my purchase!!!

OK thanks I like those tires and I have the high torque servo so I think they will work OK on mine. I think the terra-pins roll too much for my needs, the foam keeps getting kind of deformed on the fronts LOL!

I will say one thing, they make the truck much more stable in the turn, I had trouble rolling it, so, so far so good.

Mike, what servo do you have????

yes frddyi i think your right actually, a bigger tire means more rotational mass which should mean a bit more speed but a little less wheelie power lol..

shouldnt the bigger diameter of the tire increase top speed (mathematically)?

yes it should...BUT ......and the expense off a slower take-off. if you don't re-gear......gotta give up something!!!

I've got the Terra-Pins now on the Mag-8 wheels. Does anybody know how the weight compares with my wheels and a set like danelectro's? I know the size on the tires is only a little bit bigger in diameter so I'm not worried about gearing and they don't look like they would be that much heavier but looks can be deceiving I guess. They look about the same as what I have except with more rim and less tire.
