What can I do to quiet down my Savage? I have heard you can but steel wool in the pipe but have never tried it. Any suggestions?
 
I ran the cone for a few tanks, it isn't all that quieter lol. Other than that, I'd think steel wool would really effect the dynamics of the exaust, might cause the motor to run really poorly.
 
don't pack the pipe. If your running a tuned pipe you can switch to a plastic one. Otherwise get a small block .21 for it. Or tell the neighbor to give you a kiss where the sun don't shine.....
 
best bet is to run your savage at peak hour times...afternoon before 5/6:00, for many people 5/6:00 is dinnertime....the only other options you have is to invite them to drive it and get them hooked on rc's, or you'll have to find a field/ school playground to run your truck.
Remember to always be curtious to your neighbors....they could let you get away with murder one day because you were nice. lol

I agree ... Do you pay taxes ? if so screw them .. You could be a REALLY annoying neighbor who has gangsta rap Bumping all night long ..


Its not like your out at 11:00 at night going up and down the road ..

Tell him you don't like the sound his lawn mower makes ...:stickspank:
 
What exactly did your neighbor do to make you think he doesn't like the savage? I have been dealing with annoyed neighbors since the day I bought my savage. On the other hand as many neighbors out there that dislike my savage there are an equal amount that come over when I'm driving it and think its cool. Like others said as long as your not driving it at night or early in the morning, don't worry about it.
 
Also you can always go to a smaller pipe if you MUST quiet it down. Just remember that anything you do to the pipe will affect performance.
 
I had the same problem. I eventually got into a fight with him because he sad it was to loud when he was mowing his own lawn. Before he said that I was always respectful and made sure not to run late or between 4 and 6 because thats supper time. But after that little feud I said screw it because he was just trying to be disrespectful and complain about every little thing.

But I would maybe ask your neighbor when is the best time to run your truck so it wouldn't bother him for what ever he is doing at that time.
 
Just drive it on his porch for a few tanks, he will get used to it. Then when you drive it in the road it will seem quiet as can be. LOL jk.

I agree with Shanty, ask him when the best hours are you can drive. If he is still a butthead I say screw it drive whenever.

I think you should install spinner wheels..a mini stereo system on the savv that bumps..and then play gangstaaa rap while running up and down the front street...that would be pimpinnnn....

I bought my savage with one intention of being annoying to my neighbors as they annoy me..and the lawnmower argument is the best defense..especially if you have a "hero" neighbor who likes to wake up at the crack of dawn and mow his grass on a saturday morning. Its myyyyyy turnnnnnnnn......LOL

As far as quieting little savvy down...heres the best tool idea you can get and its FREE..a copy of your local Noise Ordinance...as long as you're not running it after the specified time by the law of your county/city that you pay taxes in...who cares what the neighbor likes...you can't please everybody so have fun and enjoy your truck.

If you want to keep the peece...go to your local school field or try and find an open place to run in outside your neighborhood from time to time.

you could convert it to brushless lmao thats real quite and alot faster i hear!! but when i first got my savage x i was worried about the same thing and at first someone did come out to see what the heck was going on and ended up standing there watching me for 10 minutes... i had apologized if it bothered them, she said no but was wondering who was cutting down trees outside lmao and i even had a member of our local opp police force stop and watch so i guess I'm pretty lucky!!

i hear ya on that one i used to have a neighbor like that were i lived before, man it was like 6 am and he's out there with a weed wacker lol wished i still lived there, i would make sure i got up at 5 am and start my savage x and do donuts in his driveway till he woke up ha ha
 
all the people that live by me are cool with it as long as i am not runing at nite they all come out and think its cool so i don't know what to tell u i would say just to run it and have fun who cares what he says :bluehack:
 
My neighbor is a she and she lives 1/2 mile down the road. We live in a very rural area and I can't see how it bothers her that much. She also complains about me shooting guns (mostly rimfires) and flying my RC helis and planes. What next...snoring to loud?
 
If she lives 1/2 mile down the road I would say screw it and RUN!!!!!

Tell her that her ignorance is annoying

I have one of these, and what's worse is that he's RETIRED. That old fartbag could do it any day of the week, but nope it's Saturday or Sunday morning.
