Heres the problem:
Savage 25, PnP'd motor that wont start. Its turning over, new glow plug, got fuel, carb set to stock......

It just wont start, no matter what we do it will not start up, and its got good compression. What could be the problem?

The Story:
Alrighty guys, Ive got a Savage 25 with the stock 25 motor in it. A few months ago I flipped the truck, cracked the lower block in the rear left screw.
I replaced the lower block and when I had it all apart we figured we would PnP the sleeve.

After it all got put back together I installed it and it wouldnt start, I got fed up and pushed it aside, do to already dumping money into the stupid truck.\\

Thanks for any help guys!

Is it getting fuel, No cracks in the fuel lines or in the tank?

When trying to start does the motor try to spin over or is the OWB shot?

Your probably going to have to rip it apart and get pictures of the sleeve, piston and crank shaft. When modding something was done incorrectly more than likely.

There is 0 fuel outside the block anywhere, and it is getting fuel. The carb seems to be working fine. Fuel lines are fine as well as the tank

Does it have good compression??

Is your plug good?

Is the OWB shot?

If nothing else please read my post above (Edited) and take the pictures. Making sure that it was put together correctly(Sleeve in correct direction).

The motor is turning over correctly as it appears. The piston reaches TDC and then returns like it should, so the OWB doesnt seem to be shot.

The plug is new, and reading good on our plug ignitor.

Compression is excellent.

ok I am his brother the one that did the pnp and the one trying to get the thing to run.

In the last too hours i found a few things out
1. the cooling head bolts where ridiculously loose causing a leak
2. It really tries to start. it will start to kick over for just a sec. Like it fires once and then misses and will do that for a while but it wont ever catch
3. all hoses tank and exhaust are fine, i switched it with my truck that runs awsome.
Here are the pics: the pnp was a direct copy to the best of my ability from a pic somewhere on this site

The last two pics show some nicks on the top and bottom of the sleeve

Yes we would appreciate better pictures as we can not tell anything from them.

You are also going to want to get some of the crank on the rod end and in the hole in the side.

i have never pnped a motor but tend to agree with bank those cuts look bad as the port shape just looks wrong. its for this reason i havnt pulled my motor to try this, they run good so ill leave the mills well enough alone

i agree that sleeve is wrecked. check to see if the piston is damaged from burrs...if so they gotta go.
