LRP zr.28 vs. LRP zr.30

I know everybody seems to like the .28's but I was wondering if the the LRP zr.30 compared to the LRP zr.28? They are so close in size! I see quite a few people running the .30 though. Which one is better if your not racing but still want awesome power?

I see they have different spec levels too. Which one at it's highest spec is better? I see the LRP zr.30 X has higher RPM's and more HP than the zr.28 spec2. Seems like it would be worth the extra $40! Which one would you guys like better? Maybe I should have started a poll LOL!

.28 anyday. It has a higher max rpm's. Will spool up faster too.

Never ran the Z28R but i love my ZR.30, got tons of low end power, it was wheelying my heavy FLM extended mid tanked savvy in the first tanks of the heat cycle break in on 18/47 no problem, will still wheely on 19/47 too but only from a standstill, never ran it on gearing shorter than 17/47, unsure about it revving higher than the 28, iv seen vids of the 28 and they scream more than my 30, though saying that my 30 isnt quite through break in and still more or less untuned and very fat, still getting friction heat when i try to lean her up at all, so I'm still having to keep the top very rich to keep the temps down after nearly 2gals now.

I'm building a Z28R now, been buying parts here n there from ebay for a while, I'm looking forward to completing it and comparing it with the .30, but i don't think the 28 will have anywhere near the bottom end grunt of the 30 however id say the 28 revs higher.

i never ran the lrp 30.. but i love my z28, its a mean mill..i think the lrp. is one the few mills a 30 is decent enough to go with .. i think the 28 does spool up faster but i never ran a 30 to compair it to... just get 1 youll love it either way..great mills...

That link shows the zr.28 spec 3 does 33,000 rpms and has 3.81 HP, while the zr.30-X does 38,300 rpms and puts out 4.21 HP. Everyone says .28 have higher top end but going by that wouldn't the .30 X version have higher top end? It also puts out almost another half a HP. Wouldn't this motor outperform the zr .28 spec3? It's only $40 more than the spec 3 as well.

zr 30 X is a bump start mill. If you want to do that comparison do it against the spce 3 truggy LRP and all the HP # are bs. The best .28s have 2 HP

but the zr30 x can be converted to a pullstart but i do agree with bank and personally id go with the spec3 z28 cuz its not as harsh when it come to drinking fuel.

Yeah I assumed that the .30 X could be used with a pullstart cause I know some people here run that engine, I'm pretty sure anyway.
