Does anyone know of a way to make the pullstart handle longer on the LRP? It takes me like 20 seconds to fish it out from between my fuel tank, cooling head, and shock tower on my savage. It is really annoying.

Yep I hate it also

untie the knot at the handle( it's a pain in the @$$) DO NOT LET GO OF THE STRING !!!! .. remove the handle and add some flue tubing at the bottom then put the handle back on then retie knot

so the fuel tubing goes between the handle and the other plastic piece or between the plastic piece and the pullstart assembly?

i've never used a pullstart on a nitro motor yet as I'm sure i would rip it off first couple pulls lmao I'm famous for trying to start the lawnmower and pulling the pull start cord out to far and snapping it in which case the cord goes flying inside and gets all tangled up lol:duh:

I was thinking about using a set of vice grips to hold the string. It would suck to loose the string. I've had to rebuild a pullstart before and it is not fun.

dude tie the string a round a nail the vicegrips might cut the string just a thought good luck..

I used the vice grips and had no problems. No more fishing for the pullstarter! Thanks for the tips.

i just start my 4.6ho before i put the body on makes it so that i don't have to fish for the pull start. But the fuel line idea sounds good also

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. I had to rebuild my pull start twice in a few days (first time was stupidity the second time the knot came undone). I found the easy way to do the pull start is to get some sucker to help. Stick some fuel tubing in there or do a mid tank mod. Even with the mid tank though that exhaust header is still really hot.

I got it taken care of Tim. I used a 2 inch piece of fuel tube and now it is super easy. Before I did that, even with the body off, it was hard to get the pullstarter out from between the tank, shock tower, and engine. But now I have no problems finding it even with the body on. I should have taken a before and after picture.

Whats usually the first thing to wear out on a pullstart.I want to make sure i have some spares on hand .I have the LRP pullstart.

That string is pretty thin...I hope it doesn't break. I don't have any back-ups if the pullstart breaks.
