Today I went to shut off my K5.9 by pinching the fuel line. I've always heard that the engine should rev for about a second before it quits, as it leans out. Mine didn't rev, it just abruptly died. I hear this could mean my low speed needle is either too rich or too lean, but I can't remember which. Also, which one is the low speed needle? The brass colored one??

check out that page, and no the needle you referred to is the high speed needle , the low needle is right on the end of the linkage ball connection, not the idle screw either....and dying right as you pinch the hose near the carb usually means it is a bit lean..
