I have to say the guys over at horizon hobbies sure do have the right idea. They have been releasing Bind and Fly and Bind and Drive stuff for a while now and I think this is the way of the future. They have their stuff avalible as a RTR as well and they have been including a radio that can be used with other rc's that are BND or BNF so you buy one RTR and than you use the radio that came with it to Bind to the rest of the rc's you buy from them.

I think this should be done by everyone. Who really uses the cheep stock am radio's that come with rtr's anyway? If you don't have a radio you buy a rtr that yea costs a little more but you get a high quality radio that can be used with all your future rc's.

Yea now not everyone is going to use dsm but most already have deals with futaba or airtronics anyway just use them.

They could still offer Kits that don't come with any receiver for the guys who are running other radio gear than what that company may offer.

Just my thoughts on saving the world by not cluttering landfills with am tx and rx's

I have to agree, it is a great idea that they throw decent radios on there rtr R/C's, IMO most factory radios suck, mine all head down the road for the most part. Not sure where you would start thought. The cheapo radios keep kits cheaper by quite a bit I would presume. Also, kits that are cheaper and come with radio gear helps the people that are coming to the hobby start as they have no clue what radio gear to purchase. It also give them an option when they upgrade to do so what they may prefer or whatnot at a later date.

$600 bucks for an 8ight with a spectrum, I do agree Losi has the right idea. If HPI could do this without making it too expensive then there isn't a doubt in my mind that they would sell even more units.

losi bnd rxs only work with spectrum btw but sill a nice idea but hpi is starting to throw in 2.4ghz radios with rtrs starting with the new baja 5ts

Cool, I want to get a 5T. That's good to know. I have a futaba 3PM already, but at least I could run it with 2.4ghz until I could save up for a Rx for it to go with my 3PM.

Dan I know that I said that they all us diffrent radio companys. HPI uses futaba last I knew so they could have BND versions with futaba receivers
