my question is does this savage in the video after running WOT sounds kinda funny on the way back down the rpm band and doesn't seem right. My new axial rr is doing the same thing. I am concerned of running to lean but I know there is alot of smoke still.

In the hpi tunning video when the motor sounds like that on the way bck down the rpms they say its due to being to lean.

your opinions?

thats the video of the savage with axial rr in it but it NOT my truck just sounds alot like it which is why i posted it.

so a rich LSN could cause this? I am almost sre my HSN is not too lean at this point.

Sorry, I was meaning to lean the LSN then if it start to run choppy richen the HSN at that point.

Also, try to do a pinch test so do a run down the road them back once it reaches you pinch the fuel line between 1-2"s away from the Carb. The engine should only run about 2 secs if its longer its right and if its shorter is lean on the LSN. Just a quick referance.

That sounds like rich LSN to me. The motor is getting more fuel then it needs and is causing it to rev-down wrong. A nice tuned motor should rev up and down smoothly. Try leaning out the LSN just a little and see if it helps out. Also Larsen's pinch test is an EXCELLENT way to check the lsn. I use that method myself when tuning the lsn 🙂

ok so i went out to the park and ran it. I turn the idle down it was too high, then i ran it a coupl high speed runs and still was doing it. So i tried richening the HSN and did 2 high speed runs and probem was solved. I guess I was running a bit to lean. Once I richend the HSN i smoothed out the low end a bit with the LSN and perfect.

truck running strong and smooth no hanging rpms nothing.

ty for the help. Also i blew a plug so I assuming it was due to to many high peed passes with the leaner settings.

Glad i caught this now. only 1/2 a tank and now is solved.
