k4.6 head gasket set question

Hi HPIforum members,

I'm having a small issue with a K4.6 from my savage x supersport truck.

I have burned through 4 gal of 20% and decided to take a peek inside the engine to check for wear, It was all in "like new" condition" even still tight at the top of the stroke.

so also performed a port and polish while i was in there.

when putting the engine back together i noticed that i never had the 2 head gaskets shown in my manual (part #15228).

are these gaskets used in this model of the k4.6 ss?

MJ you sure they are not stuck on the bottom of the head?

they must be, nothing came off when i cleaned the surface so stuck on good.

will pop the head off and take a closer look, thanks

top is silver and the bottom one is brass colored. It will be the same color as the head when you look at it.

Like bank said check the bottom of the head. They will also sit on top of the sleeve sometimes and look just like they are part of the sleeve but since you have teken the sleeve out you would have noticed them there.

I believe in this mill that there should be 2 one thicker and one thiner gasket.
