well looking at engine for matence i found this the headbotton has a redish color probably from running trinty fuel but don't know what the other stuff is

but on the piston i found this

motor is modded and is at 2 gallons

mine looks like that but that was after it was jammed at full throttle for 5 mins.
4x4

That looks like typical predetination or ping in normal 4 cycle engines. You have advanced your timing curve drastically. I would try running a good hot plug to help remedy the fuel being cooked on top of your piston.:Xfingers:

Thats what you do when modding the sleeve. You increase the velocity and air flow into the engine, also the timing. If you don't increase your spark or heat, raw fuel is not being burnt. Try a hot plug, I bet it will run even better !!

Dans modded mill

what if the exhaust port was not touched in modding,

is the timeing still changed during his mod?

i dunno what the modder did put he dose good work I'm using a os r8 i thought when running 30% race you go to a colder plug not a hot plug anyways i have a hot plug.ps why dose everbody say i run to lean i mean i have great smoke throught powerband and temps are good grrrr and the header is my old one from my sh28 its seen better days

yeah ur running WAY TO HOT that happened to hpi nitrostar 3.5 and every thing in my engine got way to hot and things started to warp and i had to get a new engine so ide be carful and check everything in ur mill to make sure everything is in good condition but u might have to get a new sleeve and piston and richen up ur engine when u run it

I am in no way smacking anyone's work here. I would try running a regular length plug, ie mccoy mc-59, or any standard length plug. Also it could be the fuel you are using. When Rick Brake took my LRP apart he told me that parafin buildup in the engine was horrible and was alot like what you got there. But mine was more on the skirts of the piston and edges. He said it will build up like carbon deposits and eventually break off inside the engine and can cause premature damage. My engine had a gallon of sidewinder 30 on it and it looked nothing like what you got there. I would call a professional engine modder and get there opinion on it.

well it was just carbon build up just ont the piston head and headbutton nothing but 1 and 15 q-tips later its cleab as a whistle the sleeve is wicked modded but the exaust port was left alone.
