Is the K5.9 the biggest???

That is the question...is there a motor out there that makes more power, than the 5.9???

So basically if you have an XL Savage, and replaced, or had to replace the motor...what motor did you use??? I'm just looking for options, b/c we all know these nitro engines don't last forever...i was thinking brushless conversion after the nitro engine goes...but as cool as brushless is...nothing beats the sound of a 2 stroke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are lots of mills out there that make much more power than the K5.9. For instance the Picco, LRP, most novarossies and so on. Any of these mills modded would be that much better.

The forum current favorite is the Picco P3 as its a great mill with lots of power. It is also much better once modded by Extreme RC Mod's which is linked in my profile.

LRP Z .28 spec 3. Only $169 and its in stock most places un-like the picco which is sold out everywhere. The LRP is such an improvement over the 5.9. Still breaking it in running super rich with factory needle setting with HPI pipe and it is still much better than the 5.9.

1. out of the box power monster is the LRP spec 3

2. modded power house would be the Picco 28

as for the 5.9 being the biggest motor there is always the mgt 8.0 that makes huge amounts of torque but it doesnt fit in a savage

I don't quite understand how a .28 could be more powerful than a .36 and so on...is it from the internals??? or how its built???

well the bigger mills have more torque but the .28's have better top end

So i guess in a way its kinda like a regular gasoline engine where as a 5.0 mustang engine makes more power than a 5.8 truck engine...i can see the light now...i have a keen knowledge of Gasoline engines for i went to school for automotive...but theses nitro engines are a lesson all in their own...

So lets say i toast the 5.9 in my XL what would be a great replacement, or upgrade from the 5.9??? What have you guys done??? wether it be a replacement or upgrade??? B/c like any gear head, i must go FASTER!!!! LOL:jamout:

I'm liking the spec 3 lrp...I'm trying to convince my buddy who just got a MGT3.0 to get the spec 3...either for the MGT or for his traxxas slayer that he blew the motor up in...the spec 3 would rip in that thing!
