I ran a search for the LRP and came up dry so I made this thread.

I just picked up a LRP spec 3. I'm looking for advice for sper/bell combos. Or a ratio thats a good match for this motor with a Buku. Thanks in advance guys! :resp:

Probably at least 47/18 .. I like to run 20/47
But you might have a HUGE Problem with 1/2 tank lean .. also you willl wann a extend the pullstart if you get a pullstart version .. b/c on a savage w/ the tank right there .. It's a PITA ~

I also have ran the buku w/ the lrp and .. I like the buku better on the surefire ...

250 ofna mid on one truck and what ever morris did to the other. Its a mid tank too. I pray it helps with mid tank lean issues. I have rope lol thanks for the hint! If the Buku does not out do the polished with the LRP I'm done with it. The polished smokes it on a HPI K4.6HO. So I almost sold it. This is its last chance.... TY Jester!

I just went to double check to make sure it was 20/49 it was it fit right in

18/49 is the biggest bell and spur combo That I can fit in a savage. I would love to see a 20/49. Ithink you might be mistaken and have a 47th spur.

I have a shp6, same as the old lrp spec 2 engine. 18/49 with the 3 speed and wheel stands are not a problem. I think its a good all around combo. The spec 3 has a little more power so 18/47 might be a pretty good combo. These engines are good dogbone snappers. Youll love it. Easy to break in and tune. Good engine choise.

Thanks grump. I have 18 and 19's coming with it. gonna start with the 47 and work from there. It may go out for a p/p too. I have not decided yet. I don't think it needs it.

This what a honest question. I had not ever had the LRP. This is when the LRP was the first answer you got, when asking for a motor too. That was a nice motor, I never posted back too. Even with my Modded motors, I still loved this one. Why I ever sold it... IDK

19/47 rocked pushed it with a 2 speed effortlessly....

Whats going on in here. >.>

I run 19/47 w/ 2speed
I tried 17/47 and it would not stay off it's lid
I tried 18/47 and it flipped still but not too easily

stock suspension, ext chassis, ofna 250cc midtank, modded lrp .28

hows my old girl running ?

I just ran it today for the first time. I only have byrons 20% so I had to richen everything up and retune... Not quite right yet I think I have a leak in my fuel line. Even with 20% it was doing full tank wheelie bar stands though with 19/47 gearing. I forgot how much low end power this engine has I was able to wheelie it in 2nd gear from a roll no problem.

lol yep 2nd gear rollers all day. I miss that mill was lots of fun. Be good to her...

I need to rethink my strategy I'm not getting wheelies with these combos

I can agree that the LRP has some low in punch, i am now rebuilding with FLM extended Chassis to try to lessen my wheel stands. It is ######## awesome when crusin along in second just blip the throttle and she hits the lid, for some awesome lid surfing!

Yes i agree the lrp is a powerhouse but my truck just squats and goes. No lifting the wheels at all.
Nova clutch shoes no weights, flm extended, cen mugen, big bores

Think my offset wheels could be helping to keep the front end down in addition to my other mods?
