my carburetor is SO MESSED UP ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY i had my truck running oky for a little bit bu it turned for the worse is there anybody in the seattle area that i can meet and will help me fix my carb if there in anyone please help me

better describe what's going on with it..how is it messing up? Not idling, shifting, etc....more details.

well it runs like sh** and boggs hard and dies when u hit the throttle and when it was running good wheni let off the throttle the rpm's would shoot up alot and its wierd

hey benny, set your engine back to factory settings and start from there. If it was running fine and sudennly started running different something must have changed, it may of came out of tune. I had a bad o ring on main needle and vibrateing and turning and the engine leaned out on me. I didnt figure it out soon enough and burned up my motor.
If you don't know what to set it back to let us know, every motor is used on this site , well almost...........

well the thing is i can tune damn near any dirt bike carb u ask me to but rc carbs are like listening to japaneese music i don't understand it so thats where my trouble is

a temp gun goes a long way when your new too tuning, you don't want to lean it out. I got one at lhs for 23 bucks.
set her at stock settingss and start tightening your main needle from there 1/8 turns.
Let it warm up before tuning.

Check for air leaks too...seal your motor. Go to google and search "stock savage settings" or something along those lines too if you don't have your manual....I'll see if I can find mine when I get home to help you out.

also (not to point out something obvious) check to see that your switch isn't reversed on your radio...just a thought 🙂

Hey guys , Lets not forget we can have him check out the HPI tuning vids, remember? In the beginning, they were a great help to me. After forcing myself to watch these vids as many times as I could stand, I came away with a fairly good understanding of what the whole tuning picture was all about. I highly reccommend you see these instructional vids.. Can someone please post the links for him?.... I hope this helps, benny. It sure helpped me. I understand we have to get the engine back to factory settings, for sure. But check these vids out, benny. You will not regret it. --SIDE NOTE: It's amazing that these vids continue to remind all of us of the things we tend to forget. Even the most experienced nitro heads can get some handy reminders with these vids. They truely are a great refference here at HPISF. ===NOW WHERE"S THAT LINK???===

your needles

lsn start from closed = 3 turns
hsn start from closed = 4.5

After break in you can turn the hsn to 2.5 to 3 turns ( from closed )
and the lsn 2.5 to 3 as well. NEVER GO LESS THAN 2 ON LSn AND 2.5 ON HSP.

The lsn is gonna control the bottom end torque. I never set mine to do wheelies cuz I want to be able to steer the dam thing. about 2.75 on the lsn is pretty good. Once you get the lsn where you want it ( truck running somewhat smooth ) DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! Most of your adjustments will be made with the hsn.

Hope this helps.
