My understanding and knowledge of RC cars is very minimal, i just know the very basics - but i am pretty good at putting things together and understanding components.
The XL model that i have purchased, i think the previous owner has done some upgrades to it, i wasn't even aware of it until i was stripping it down last night to give it a good clean.
Looks like the Suspension arms / Axle are non HPI parts as it is stamped as Integy.
I did a quick google search on this and it seems they do upgraded parts? if am correct, in theory then it should be better parts ?
See pictures attached.
(I have taken the wheels of)
Basically i think the car needs new suspensions / springs ? as (1) one of the front suspension pushes down very easily and quicker compared to the opposite suspension / spring
(2) when i lift the car of the ground and put it back down (not dropping it) the car goes down - (i would have thought it shouldn't drop down or if it does drop down it should only be very minimal ?)
This leads me onto my question regarding this - will the standard HPI suspension / springs fit this after market suspension arm / Axle ? or would i have to buy integy suspensions / springs ?
The back suspension arm / axle looks different to the front, is this suppose to be like this ?
The car has 3 Servo's fitted to it ? - is this correct ? sf-5 , sf-2 and i think it is sf-10?
i would have thought it would only have 2 servo's at most ? 1 for steering and 1 for acceleration? but like i said i do not know a great deal of RC cars so I'm not sure.
Are these water proof / splash proof by the way ?
The cog in the picture (middle smaller one in the picture) - the teeth seem to be a bit worn out, not sure what that is for ? most likely it needs replacing ?
I require this part but no idea what it is called - it is snapped, it fits on top of the skid plate - (see picture - rectangle black shape plastic i think)
i require if it exist a water proof housing for the components in the car - where the battery / transmitter sits - i have the bottom case where it sits in but no top cover.
Sorry for bombarding you all with so many questions at once
