just checked HPI and it appears that it is indeed a standard part for the flux and xl:

i've read somewhere that these are now standard parts in the flux. curious if this is true or not.

I was talking with Chris at HPI yesterday about something else so i threw your question at him.

these diffs WILL become standard in the flux on the next batch that is manufactured, so i guess the suppliers sell of the inventory they have and the next group built gets the diffs. (prob early 2010).

forgot to ask if they'll be standard in XL's tho.

One question will they fit in the old style bulkheads and gear case on the non-X-SS? I have a SS but its not the X.

Theyre now available in the UK so after destroying another 2 rear diffs iv just ordered 2 sets and 2 flux composite bulks!

Just got mine and wow, they are beefy, I'm impressed.

Would have been nice to have got a new o'ring drive cup seal though as everything else is there new.

Just got to wait for my flux bulks to arrive then i can get 'em shimmed n fitted and test 'em out!

When shimming these diffs, how many shims are you guys using on each side of the diff? I have tried a few different combos and my ring/pinion are clacking pretty loudly.

I actually just purchased 2 sets of these diffs. in my X I put a 2mm and a 1mm shim on the ring gear side, and none on the pinion and have a perfect mesh. I have the X SS alloy cups and bulks, hope this helps
