HPI Savage25, I can tell you how I mounted the wing on my Savage race truck.

First you will need some parts from Amain Hobbies because they are the only place I can find that stocks Kyosho parts. Here are the pages for the needed parts.

If you click on the Kyosho MP7.5 in the upper header it will take you to the main Inferno parts page. The first wing, blue, is at the bottom of page 1 and all the rest are on page 2.

Ok, after you get the parts you need to cut the forward most part of the wing stays off. This is what the look like:

This is where you need to cut off:

Make a cut that is back from flush with the bottom through bolt holes. Here is a side pic close up to show you how to cut each side of the wing stay.

Use two of the short bolts used to hold the Savage X diff cover in place, Z634. Screw the Z634's into the holes that you normally put body clips into to set the body post height.

Your done, Savage wing made easy. This is what it looks like when your done.

As for shocks. I used Integy MSR7 Hellfire shocks for my Savage. The are super beefy and give the truck a really mean stance.

Your Savage looks good, get the wing on it and it will look that much meaner..
What is it about those who can't even say "Thanks for the tips and links"??

Thanks DS. Thats great information, bud.

Actually, The carb will draw fuel on it own.
In fact, by removing the the pressure line and capping off the pipe fitting, along with filtering the tank's pressure inlet, this a racing setup.

This, according to Adam Drake.
By doing this arrangement with the air fittings, The effect is discribed as getting your nitro to feel more like an electric, providing a smoother power delivery to the drive train. This is said to provide better traction, as it buffers the torque with some smoothness.

You will need to retune the mill for this difference in pressure lose.

Any pics on how this is to be done? Or, any place to look up for more info and pics/illustrations of this type of set-up.

No pics. Just take a 1/2 inch piece of fuel tubing, and spare bolt that fits the tube tightly. Insert the the bolt in the tube and blow in to it for a pressure check.
Place the tube on the pipe fitting and use a baby zip-tie to seccure it.

Now,.. get a spare fuel filter and zip-tie it in a good spot like in the center of the rear shock tower.
Cut a piece of fuel tubing long enough to reach the tanks inlet and the filter leaving a bit of slack.
This tube is going to removed from the filter everytime you need to prime the engine.
After you've primed the engine, re-attatch the tube to the filter and start her up.

Re-tune the mill for this new setup.
With the tank pressure gone, the engine needs to be tuned richer to compensate for the pressure loss.

Good Luck, Xtremsavage.

Sorry lol. I have the wing/mount and all I just had to get out their and get a plate cut which I did. I just have to get a hole drilled for the roto start or use a pull start.........

UPDATE: 2 speed is back in the truck, and the stock motor is going back into the truck.

Ok I am not sure what I am going to do with this truck lol. I am still awaiting parts to get the 2 speed installed. The truck was doing really good at the last race, until the tranny blew up and the CB teeth are sharp, not the way it comes from the packaging but sharp, almost enough to cut you and it probaly would if I tried to. I haven't drove the truck in a while but I am going to put the other 4 shocks back on and I am putting the pullstart on the truck so I can use my wing and I will get my plate drilled for a roto start later on. I just want to drive the truck and see if I can make it 1 tank without something breaking or stripping.

keep the truck!!!!! problems happen but life goes on! giving up is a sign of weakness! but keep us up to date.
good luck
4x4

Ya I am keeping it. The motor needs a good cleaning and one of these days I am going to drive it like I used to without stripping a spur or CB. Everything is TIGHT and my mesh is good yet they strip, think my TVP's are tweaked.

lol old thread but figured I could bring it back to life. This thread was with my old truck, and I don't have it anymore. Anyways I am looking for ideas to do to the X to make it a better racer.........

suggestions anyone?

I have a spectrum dx2 in it, F4.6, buku, 645mg steering servo, nova cooling head, and nova clutches. I am also thinking of getting the HPI Suspension Conversion kit and some Rock Concepts LCG chassis......

Looking to add some other stuff to it but need suggestions.....

Thank you

New steering linkage (I use integy w/ servo mounted servo saver), 40 series tires, lcg tvp's, as many carbon fiber, and titanium parts as you can possibly afford, adjustable upper control arms, mid-tank conversion, forward hump pack...

40 series are too wide for the track i think at the finals but does really well here......working on a midtank with whatever tvp's I get.

Got 4 of my Cen shocks today, going to go bashing one last time before I take the stockers off.....

Picked up a set of FLM LCG TVP kit the other day. Installing it all right now and installing the cen shocks. I will post pictures once its back together, no mid-tank for right now but as soon as I get some more cash I will be doing a mid-tank
