Hey guys, Hope you can help me out.

I just swapped in a new HPI motor onto my savage. Starts fine but if you let it idle at all it clicks off abruptly. No Breaks no anything just clicks off. Is there something I can adjust for this? I have tried tuning the idle, carb, etc. but have not solved this problem. I tried following the stickied threads on this site but have not found the answer to it!

Also These trucks have rods that hold the A-Arms on. What do you guys do to ensure these don't pop out? all 4 of mine shift out of place and I cannot get them to stay in place. Major problem.

Thanks for any assistance! Cheers

have you made sure that the carb gap is properly set? it should be set to 1mm. it's in ur manual.

most people use a zip tie to hold the arms that attach to the bumper together. that way, they block the pins from backing out.

Yea I seem to have lost that manual. I have been trying to piece it all together through this forum. I have to try find it i guess. Are all motors settings the same? like the adjustments?

Question.

Would it seems to stop when the pullstart cord is put fully back into place or when the glowplug igniter is removed. Am i missing something major?

How often do you need to change glow plugs? typically? is it on a per start basis? or what causes them to go

So its not the Glow Plug. I pulled it out and tested it and it was fine. weird.

Starting to think its something in the throttle linkage. Gotta do research on that

Did you follow the link I provided and find your engine and setup the linkages according to the instructions ? if the idle gap is too small or wide it will have a lot of trouble starting and staying running..... the same with the high and low needle settings....
