you need to go with the yellow springs like I did a long time ago and you should look at the IRC shock towers. They are stronger than GH towers. I left stock towers on mine so they would flex if there was an issue. I would also say you lost the lower control arms from the shock of the landing. The shocks couldn't absorb all the force so it was transmitted to the frame. Remember the springs are made with a specific load weight on it and your truck isn't half of the load weight the spring was designed to have.

And finally the bulkhead itself. Wasn't impressed with the FLM towers, but I do have my eye on their bulkhead.

Thanks frddy. And I have been talking myself into the FLM bulks, and SMF is where I have them tagged.

Gee sorry man, didn't look like to hard of landing at all. Looks like a great place to bash tho. I also agree I would contact FLM on the shock tower, I would bet they will replace it. If they throw a fuss about it show them the video of it.

How did the Baja shocks work for you, I couldn't watch the full video as it wouldn't let me, who knows.

Wow, I've only just seen this thread...Great job whipnet !!

I would recommend the FLM hybrid bulkheads, but I don't think the FLM towers are the way to go. I don't have any experience with them, but I'm thinking that they are not the strongest design. All those holes close together give lots of mounting options, but give it the strength of Swiss cheese !!

i would just use the stock shock mounts like i did on mine and hops truck

FLM said they would replace the towers. I've asked if they would apply that to their bulkheads. I am still waiting on a reply as of this post.

That's good of them to replace the towers. It'll be interesting to here what they say about the bulkheads. You've have to try really hard to break them !!

Well, after further arguement, I mean conversation, FLM is giving me $30 credit toward the bulks instead of $12, so I'll take it.

And I'll take back my nasty comments once it's all said and done. 🙂

Oh, I won't be getting the Baja shocks, only the towers. I'll use those with Big Bores I think.

A little off topic, but I'm trying to get as much info as I can on this. Would installing the Big Bores on there require drilling the GH towers too? What about the metal "posts" on which the shocks are attached, is there a P/N for that & does it come with the pin to hold the top of the shock to the tower?
