I'm kind of new to this and was wondering if anyone else had an idea of why I keep breaking my tank. It cracks on the back near the shocks. I was wondering if the pullcord handle could be doing it when I land bad.

filp your shock screws so the threads are to the rear of the truck. on a hard landing they puch out the tank

What bank said +1. Getting an extended chassis helps. Or you could do a mid-tank. While I don't recommend this they also sell aluminum tanks.

I had my pull start crack the lid of the tank open before I did a midtank mod. When the engine got shut off or stalled it would yank the pull start in and it would hit the tank. With the standard chassis I fixed this by holding my pull start in the extended engine protector roll cage.

Thanks for help I have to get a new tank and try to tie up the pullstart handle.

yep banks totally right screws in where threads pointing twords the tank instead od pointing out the back of the towers is the number 1 reason for puncture wounds in the back side of the tank...you might not think the towers have that much flex to ever come close to hitting the tank,,, but these trucks arent light and impact from a drop of several feet will flex the whole truck....

I got a fix for mine I took a small piece of metal and cut it to fit the back, a bit of shoe-goo and haven't had a hole since oh and scuff the tank for the glue to grab, and turn the shock(s) screw around.

Yeah let me get out my cam and take some shots, I'll try to have them posted by tuesday been busy sorry guys.
