So i found out i can get a new motor for my b-day, and, of course, i had no idea what to get. My limit will be around 180, but possible exceptions could be made (like if somone found a REALLY good deal on an OS, or something of the sort). Mostly i hear LRP, K4.6, F4.6, Axial, Shurfire, and STS occasionally. I have also been told (props to hpi_savage25) the SH 28. I have heard that the LRP is good, but it's getting harder to get parts for them, andAxial 28's aren't the best, plus i can afford better (no offense to Axial owners, it's just what i heard). I would preferr to have a 28, as a 32 is BA, but it will be a motor meant for racing and some bashing, and all i need is 28 (plus it's a little better on the juice). I had a second idea too. Seeing that i am running a 25 now, i could put a buku on it (those with this .25 & buku setup TELL ME HOW IT IS!!), and that could make it track worthy, fast for bashing, and save me $80 to get som'n perty :bling:

i just got lrp spec 3 AND IT BEAT EVERYONE!!!! I BROKE ALL MY DOGBONES!!!!!!(lol on purpose, i got new ones anyway)

ive heard the lrp isnt evenly balanced, in that it has more mid to high end. would the picco be better balanced? o yeah, what is the difference between the k and f 4.6? isnt it where they are made?

I'm going to be trying the surefire 32 shortly in a savage 25 roller i grabbed off ebay we'll see how it goes lol right now I'm running the xtm 457 pro truck engine which is a twin to the lrp in specs claiming a horsepower of 3.8 and looks indentical as well and all i can say is its been a blast, more power then i need really lol but man does it wheelie lmao

thanks nitro. that xtm does look really similar. id love to hear about the 32, but i don't really want a 32, 28 is enough for me.

LRP Z28R Spec 3 is the motor to get. They are insanely powerful and already come ported from the factory to make it even faster. Best bang for your buck under 200 in my opinon.

I'm a huge axial fan myself and there isnt much diference between the .28 and .32, i have them both
but, like sdmorris said.....the LRP Z28R Spec 3, is the engine to get in your price range, just my couple of cents

I got an Axial .28 before I bought the LRP Spec 3. Dam! What only $30 more gets you. Both engines are good. But the LRP is in a different class.

get the LRP that mill is sick,i am going to put one in my other savy when i get the funds

ok, well the lrp is looking good, but still haven't made up my mind. ive metioned it, but i guess i will have to ask, ive heard the lrp lacks in bottom end (torque), and after looking on youtube, it seems this is true. i am less concerned about parts, as long as they remain available, but am MOST CONCERNED about powerband. I would rather have a evenly balanced motor, so i can make adjustments with gear ratios and such without sacraficing power on another end of the powerband. thanks for all the help!

I don't know why you would think that! Most guys on here with LRP's cant seem to keep their front wheels on the ground. Although, if you feel like your lacking bottom end torque its just a matter of buying the correct exhaust. The Buku (although expensive) will not only give you some pretty gut-wrenching low end torque, but your entire powerband will feel almost twice as powerful. Look into it, alot of the guys on here have them (including myself) and love'em.

As far as the LRP and os go, the LRP is way easier to tune and will give it a good run for its money. I have had the F 4.6 the K4.6 <--- Axial is almost the same mill BTW. And A K4.6 HO.
you asked the difference in the f/k mills. Theres a whole thread on this question . That I posted the info on.
My LRP BUKU combo is running 47/19 and is just as fast out of the hole as my K4.6 HO. It is running 47/17 and the HO is for torque not HP. It make less HP then the K -.03 but is stronger by 10 oz's of tourqe. So how does that answer your low end torque Question. It has plenty when tuned right.... and parts are not hard to find for them. Only a 800 call away. Yea not many parts on E bay but theres piston /sleeves around and what more do you need. To be honest if it was said these would stop being made I would buy the first 20 I could get my hands on and not think twice.

Look at the specks for your self. Most mills are on this sheet and most info is already on this forum if ya look around a bit. These are true dyno #'s not false claims that each mill maker says to sell motors...
