Alright guys, the bone breaker is gonna chime in on this one. Ok, first things first, the reason they are bending or snapping off near the ball end is because there is too much play, sliding between the drive cup and stub axle. Or, your suspension is dropping down too much causing the bones to bind. The first thing to check is to make sure that the black o-rings are still inside the drive cups (coming out the diff). Also check too make sure they are folded or smashed in there. If they are there and are not smashed or folded, then next thing to check for is side-to-side play in the diffs. If the diffs have too much play in them side-to-side, that will also cause bone problems. That's the problem I was having with mine. Since I shimmed the diffs for side-to-side play, I haven't broken a bone yet. That, and I'm also runnin the FLM bones from SMF (which are also the same price as the HPI HD ones if you don't get them from ebay). If the first two check out ok, then move onto the suspension. Check for binding in the suspension, the down travel, and also the bearings inside the hubs. Also, check the bearings inside the diff housing (bulkhead). Go through these steps and hopefully you'll fix the problem.
