So I'm mounting up my new LRP .30 in my XL. No matter what I've tried the mesh is way too tight. Eating paper and just a lot of force required to spin the spur. I have the bolts/engine mount pushed as far as possible, just no where left to go! I was thinking the only option is grinding out the slots, any other ideas?

Stock XL TVPs, XL motor mount from the 5.9. Can you guys recommend an adjustable mount? I'm a n00b at this stuff, first time changing an engine.

Nova... I suggest getting it off ebay they are not to good about shipping w/o the chaperon

check to make sure your motor plate isn't bent up, my buddy just had this same issue and it was bent I guess from jumping it. he kept spinning spur gears until he found this out.

take the bottom plate out (purple part) and set it on a flat surface and you'll be able to tell if its bent or not.

Had the plate out last night for a cleaning and it seemed totally flat. I wasn't looking for warping though, but I had it on a flat workbench and it was sitting flat.

So I'm good with the Nova for fitment in an XL w/ LRP .30? Guess I'll see what others say on Purenitros comment of side to side vs back to front.

Edit: looking at the pic it seems Purenitro is right. I see no side to side sliders here, just front to back. This isn't going to help me at all as I can't get the engine far enough away from the spur. Argh this stuff is frustrating! I mean am I the only one with a XL / LRP .30 and this mesh issue?!

I think if anything I need an engine plate with longer left/right slots for the mount to slide in. Does anyone make that? I'm thinking I can grind out the slots in my stock plate...

Thanks for the Londoner thread, will check it out.

are the motor mount screws hittin the tvp's? caz you can change to buttonhead & theyll slide rite under

i have the LRP 28 on a .25 stock chassis...i had a 16t clutch bell and a 52t spur...i had the motor slid all the way over and noticed that the screw heads were hitting the side plate. a little dremel time later and problem was solved..then i went to a 47t spur and had no problems..(there was a bit more space on the side)...

with my lrp .28 the engines backplate was hittin the tvps causing the binding issue so i dremeled (flm tvps id cry if i modded my cf) so it would fit better

how do you know if you have a good mesh or not? any pointers on what to look for?

and does anybody know were i can get a nova savage engine mount that has them in stock?
