Gas tank prevents WOT

I have a RTR 4.6x and when I don't have the gas tank on the throttle body can open all the way. When the tank is on the throttle body hits the side of the tank and prevents it from opening all the way. Any suggestions to fix this?

It has the stock tank location and I just replaced the tvps with new ones, so the body is not twisted and the engine plate is also not bent.

What gearing are you running. If you are running small gears say a 47T Spur and a 13T CB the motor will sit to close to the stock tank and this problem will arise. If possible take some pictures of your set as we may see something funny as well.

Side Note: Your Linkages should be set up so they don't pull the carb out as far as it can either. Just pull your air filter off and set it up so it pulls the carb open just so it is our of the way and not blocking the hole into the engine.

Loosen the throttle body and turn the carb clockwise slightly so it clears the tank.

If these suggestions don't fix it you could always go Mid-Tank.

I am running stock spur gear and CB. Also, there is approx a .25 of the hole still being blocked. Could it be my linkage?

Ill try turning the carb and see if it makes a difference.
