Hi guys,

I need some info on this. When I run my 25 with a full tank it bogs down and hardly makes it to 2nd gear, when it gets to half tank it runs like a champ I though I have to lean it a bit more but when I pulled my glow plug out the coil was white ( I think that means I'm already to lean). I run traxxes top fuel 20% which is high in oil. Is there a mod I could do to stop this from happening. Also dose the 4.6 have the same problem.

Thanks

The problem is from the tank. I lengthened my fuel line and added a primer bulb and filter to my line and its much better.
You can also do a midtank or replace the stock tank in the stock location. There is an OFNA tank for that but I don't know what size it is or what vehicle its from.

You also need to try and tune it w/ about 1/2 tank of fuel. That will give you a better "happy medium" with your overall tune. Try that before you start dropping money in it. I used Traxxas 20% for a long time before I switched to Sidewinder 30%. That worked the best for me. Now that I'm running Sidewinder 30%, the truck is easier to tune and it seems to run much better.

I run the Ofna tank(125cc) and it helped the HTL issue BIG TIME!!!! I noticed it the very first tank and i even had to retune everything.

Here is a mod which may be helpfull:

Also I highly recommend you seal the engine using the links below as a reference:

I would also recommend changing fuels. This is strictly a personal opinion but I did not like the traxxas fuel. It was even run in a TRX engine and made the motor run like crap. I use sidewinder 20% but hav heard good things about other fuels which you can get opinions from others here.

Oh yeah, I have the 4.6 and have the half tank lean. One last recommendation, do not fill the tank all the way to the top with fuel. Leave some room at the top. Fuel will run back into the pressure line which affects the performance initially until the fuel level goes down.

Thanks guys for all your info. I will look into the new fuel tank and change o fuel brands. Its nice to have support in this hobby. Are local hobby shop is not easy to deal with. LOL..

Thanks Again

Hey do u have any pic of your OFNA tank modd or can u tell me what u had todo to make it fit

new era models sells the complete kit to install the ofna tank. it comes with the ofna 125cc tank, the brass fuel nipples and the mounting bracket so it installs easily and is a great upgrade but keep in mind it is a smaller tank so run time is shortened a bit but not a huge difference i have this tank setup and like it but make sure you buy the one that goes in the stock location not the one that installs on the rear of the truck as new era models has both kits!!! the rear mounting tank wont handle the abuse of a bad rear landing i don't think.........

I extended my fuel lines from the tank to the carb and it eliminated my problem. This seems to work for some and not for others though. Cheap to try though.

I shortened my line from to the motor to about 5in., then shortened the line to the pipe just long enough to go to the tank. I haven't had any issue sense. This has even helpped with the half tank lean issues.

Never heard of shortening to fix it, but hey, whatever works!

How long can run upside down? I usually flip as far away as I can be it seems. lol
