Fuel Tank Cap

I was cleaning up my savvy lastnight when I noticed that the fuel tank cap pin had worked itself loose. I thought that while I was cleaning I would take it off to get to all the dust around the cap.

Well, now I can't get the cap to snap shut! I know it's one of the most simple things.. but I just can't manage to get the damn spring to snap the cap back. Is there an easy way to do this?

Are you sure that the spring is on the tank and cap right? The rounded end points down and fits on the tank by the filler hole, and the two pointed ends point upwards and and run parallel with the cap.

I think that I have the stock cap fitted back on now =) it snaps back into place (not as stiff as it used to be though)

I also bought an alloy cap a week ago which I got today. However I don't think that this is compatible!
