My and my friend ran both of our new Savages today. We were ramping about a distance of 15 feet. His quit running and we couldn't get it to run again. We got to looking and his stock fuel tank was busted in the back. It had a hole poked through it right in front of the rear shock tower. We parked it and continued to run mine. 5 minutes later mine quit running and done the same exact thing. Has anyone else had this problem and how to fix it. Haven't even got a gallon of fuel through em yet. I have been looking at aluminum guards for the tank but they look like they only protect the outside edge of the tank. I need something to protect the back around the shock towers. I don't really want to do a midtank conversion. It sounds like a pain in the @*s. Thanks

turn the shock screw around so the head is facing the tank. ya may be able to fix the tank with a soldering iron just melt it back together

Thanks,, never thought about that. DUH! I even have holes poked through my body where the bolts have came through it. I'll turn em around and see. I thought about cutting thin pieces of aluminum and siliconing them to the tank to help, but i'll see if this works first. It's hard to believe that the shock towers will move that far, but that is the only thing it could've been. Thanks again.

For some reason my fuel tank is beveled at the rear of the tank is this some kind of updated tank

my tank is angled a little too toward the top, but the shock tower bolt is still about an inch away, but it still hit it and knocked a hole in it. I might try to silicone some thin cut pieces of aluminum to the tank so it will take some of the brunt of impact. Still going to turn the bolts around so that it don't have a sharp point hitting in the first place.
