I seamed to have developed a leak that I'm unable to fix. I think its because the head button may be "Tweaked" but I'm not sure... The shims appear to be in good shape an intact. But no matter how easily and evenly I tighten the head screws it still "BUBBLES" fuel out from between the head and the engine when running.

So... Do I need a NEW head button? Heat sink? Shims? All the above? I saw a real nice heat sink that appears to be a "ONE PIECE" with the head button as part of it.... rather then the two piece I have now.

Thanks for the help a"HEAD" or time...LOL

can you see if its coming between the button and the head or the button and the engine? You might get away with sealing it.

I think I would try the new head button and would also relace the shims at the same time. I have also seen this happen when to much ARO is placed into the engine and pulled as it then forced the oil/fuel threw the bead button due to the compression, basicly the same thing as a head gasket leaking on a 4 stroke.

It seems their are 2 types of 4.6 cooling heads.

There is a TWO PIECE head for the SAVAGE X RTR 4.6 (uses a two piece HEAD BUTTON/COOLING HEAT SINK)

And a different ONE PIECE head for the SAVAGE X SS (has a one piece COOLING HEAD)

Does ANYONE know if they are they interchangeable?

Are they the same engine with different cooling heads?
