YO STEVAGE did you get your bearing out or in . right after i read your forum my front bearing went i noticed oil in front of my engine. did the leak test it was bad .i orderd a bearing from boca they say they all leak alittle you think he's right or wrong i don't know maybe someone else from the forum will know i hope???i'm lost on that one..hope you got yours fixed. thanks.

I still waitin for my bearing,i'll let you know when i got it.As for takin the engine apart,I'm right now havin a hard time gettin the flywheel nut off so i ordered a flywheel wrench from SMF(great store). As of now,my engine is sittin on the shelf waitin till my parts come. To answer your question,I don't think a engine bearing should leak.

I was takin my engine apart to put my new bearing in and i stripped a screw that holds the backplate to the block(can't believe i did that,DUH).And now i'm stuck with that and have no clue how to get it out. What do you guys do in a situation like this.

sometimes you can take your dremel tool and cut a groove across the screw if you can reach it and use a reg screw driver to turn it out ,or you can go buy an easy out tool that will work also

Thanks alot windjammr,i'll do that.where can you get an easy out tool.

I would like to clean my engine parts before i put them in again.Would detured achohol work good? What should i use to dry them?

well I'm in the boat with ya there stevage. my front bearing just went out. i dunno if it was from sitting or what, cus it ran good the last time i drove it, which was in oktober or november. i also have a bad exhaust leak, so new gaskets for me!

I feel for you.I haven't ran my truck for about a month now and i'm itching to run it again(just don't barely have time these days). What mill are you running?

Same here, about time for a new mill. The LRP is definantely my choice.Awhile back i was gonna get a axial but heard a lot of negative comments on it so i decided to hold off.

Well i'm sending my engine back to hpi thru their engine replacement program and hopefully rather than gettin a new engine that they will give some money back(i emailed them about it).I took my engine apart today and noticed my pinch is gone(from newbie breakin),so rather than spending for a new piston sleeve,i'm gonna get an LRP.What all shall i get to handle the power of the LRP,my drivetrain is completely stock except for the alloy diffs with 4 bevel gears.

HPI will more than likely just send you a new engine. A member here just sent his back with a broken crank and replaced it for free and he sold on ebay and bought an LRP.
