fixing a header?

Mine has a hole in it too caused by chaffing against the TVP, bought a new one to replace it but while i was waiting for it to arrive i used a tiny bit of JB stick weld to patch the hole, works fine and i still have the header fitted, havnt bothered to change it yet.

Or a small amount of exhaust repair putty or similar should do the job if the hole is only small like mine.

That will work, although the constant pounding against the tvp will push a big indent into the header. This will distort the exhaust pulse a bit and could cause a slight power loss. If you have a new one, it's just best to use it.

Yea i hear ya, there is no real "proper" fix i guess, just a make shift repair until the part can be replaced, i havnt changed mine yet just purely because I'm lazy lol

What i did do though was slice an inch of fuel tube down the center and cable tie it to the top of the TVP at the point where the header was fouling it, kinda cusions it and helps to prevent further damage.

I've tig welded a couple before but the problem is getting inside to grind off the bump so the flow is smooth. I ended up getting a new one to be sure.
