What kind of baffle are you talking about, the rubber piece that goes on the end of the exhuast or the cone thing that goes in the stock tuperware muffler or something else??
Sounds like your talking about that aluminum cone thing that comes with the stock pipe. If you are they are pointless. Higher end pipes are designed to not need them. Hence the "tuned pipe". They are tuned to have the best performance in a certain rpm range. You can find pipes that offer better top end, midrange, or low end. Those are tuned by the size and shape of both the pipe and the openings on it. That is how the buku pipe changes. The spring compresses which changes the tune of the pipe dynamicly. Hope this helps.
