hey everyone,

I have a savage 25 and i just bought the rd logic dual pipes. ive had the truck for almost 3 years now and everything with it is fine. I installed the pipes and i was told to put everything back to factory and retune. This was a daunting task and its still not working properly. Gradual acceleration is fine but from a stand still and giving it full throttle suddenly itll bog and sputter. There is blue smoke at all times but not excessive amounts. I've leaned it out and made it richer and it just makes it worse. Should i be adjusting only the low speed screw?....and how many turns should the high speed be at from close?.....i just don't get it.

Thanks in advance for your time

p.s. I'm new to the forum

Unfortunately, from what I have heard of that pipe it is junk. Put your old pipe back on and I bet the problem goes away.

really.....i like the sound.....i found an online tuning video that was awesome...now the car only sputters before taking off.....i like how loud it is too.....but i cant seem to get that sputtering to go away....i leaned out the low speed and it just makes it worse

I have heard they sound nice but that they don't offer enough back pressure for the engine to run at its full potential.

Trust us thoes pipes are junk .. sounds like your lean tho .. stock pipe is better .. It might sound good but if you blow your engine.. Your SOL !

Welcome to hpisf my man !

Owned one! Key word "OWNED" It was possibly the worst Savage hop-up I've purchased to date. I agree, it is definitely loud and looks cool with the exhaust pouring out the back. But it just killed the performance of the truck. I was tooling around the neighbourhood with my brother, his truck was bone stock and he was eating me for lunch.

I'd have to recommend to put your stock pipe back on, even if it is just the nylon pipe for now. most of your problems will go away. I hated the pipe so much, I couldn't even bring myself to ebay it to recoup some of the cost. I didn't want to see someone else think they scored a deal, when in all honesty, they paid way too much for a piece of junk. Definitely the worst $60 I've spent since I've owned the truck!

I agree!!! I had the rear exhaust, and it looked and sounded cool, but it would not run for sh!* no matter how I tuned it......The power from the Buku is impressive!!
