hi all,

just a couple of quick questions.

i got a new one way bearing because the old one was just spinning and not cranking the engine. the new one just spins aswell, but not as much as the old one, any ideas, could it be something else besides the one way bearing?

also last one

when I'm bashing my savage around, when i let go of the throttle it keeps full revs for about a second or two before it drops to idle, it never used to do that before. i checked the throttle and its not sticking.

don't know what mill u have but if your 100% sure on the linkage and didnt change the mixture screws it may have a leak on the backplate you took off to replace the OWB , did you replace the o ring? you could back it up with RTV copper
for the OWB slipping some people rough up the shaft with scotch bright to help it bite , but try this after a good run with it still hot pick it up by the back bumper and stand it on its nose so the OWB can drain

You might need to replace the shaft that the one way grabs they do wear and some just come a little small.
If you have a stock savvy engine there is an o-ring inside the backplate that needs to be replaced from time to time. Youll need something like a dental pick to pull it out. I believe its the same size as the o-rings used on the fuel tank mounts.
If that o-ring is leaking it will cause excessive fuel to blowout into the oneway and could also cause your tuning issues.
Definitely too lean on the main or a leak.

In the metal back plate. Like I said youll need a pic of some sort to pull it out and you have to remove the plate and shaft to get to it.

To reinsert a new one, push the o-ring into place using the shaft to guide it back into the groove. Use some light oil to lubricate it and help it slip properly into the groove.

While your at it make sure your bearing seals are in good shape. Look for signs of leakage on the motor plate as the fuel is slung outward from the flywheel.

There are also some good posts here about sealing your engine. Inspect the whole assembly checking closely around the mounting tabs for cracks. If its cracked its probably time for a new engine.

Quick correction look at the motor mounting plate not the backplate.
