hi guys could any of you help me i have bought a new engine got it cheap and hope you could shed some light on it .
the engine in question is a wasp .28 ps by team orion .
any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance

They were all the rage back then in the 2004/2005 days of bashing but they were really a big pain in the butt and everyone hated them from what i heard.

sorry bro, i don't know anything about the Wasp, but mention what kind of help you looking for & I'm sure that 1 of the veterans here can get you where you want to be.... maybe toss in a pic too..:jamout:

ive definately heard of them and they were pretty powerful for there time and if you got a great deal on it, why not try it? i've never ran one myself but would give it a try for the right price!!!

here you go guys what i would like to no is will it fit the 25 engine mount and will the flywheel fit cos i have stiill to buy them yet and didnt want to buy them if they didnt fit thanks for any help to

how much is cheap?

I did a little research since I have never owned one. Most guys say with the proper sealing and tuning it is a good engine with plenty of power.

I would completely disassemble it before running it and be sure all is well on the inside, no metal shavings ect.

also, the aluminum carb is not used much in rtr mills. idk exactly why, just an observation

cool

ya thats a good price , I would still open it up for inspection and then seal it up.

yeah was going to do that just got to find out if the 25 flywheel and clutch and motor plate fit and get them bought and thanks for you help crash your a star :santa:

ya definately worth the money!!!! you got a great deal i would say!!! you will have to keep us posted through out the break in and maybe give us your thoughts on how the engine works out for u!! just a thought!!!

I'm not a expert but i would think the motor plate would fit as most engines are compatible but not all, but could be wrong!!!!

If that's a BB engine, then it will fit the Savage ! The shaft size and threads should also be a common size. Looks like a nice buy.

Welcome to the forum BTW.

theres a gear chart thread here at the forum that shows what spur gear and clutch bell combo's that are for the different versions of the savage and what effect each gear will have "bottom end - top end speed" hope this helps a bit as there alot of things to concider before i could just say "go with this spur- clutch bell combo" like what are you aiming for? a wheelie monster or a speed demon? and tires make a difference too if your running the huge tires your gearing needs to change usually!!!

Grantie, lucky dog on the motor. As far as your question goes (sorry for the late response), yes the stock flywheel and motor mount will fit the motor without any problems. If you haven't already order the motor mount, I gonna suggest you get the Nova motor mount. It'll make adjusting the gear mesh alot easier and it's also very tuff. You can adjust the way the motor sits front/back also as compared to just side/side with a stock mount. This is helpful because sometimes the motor sits to close to the trans. and the CB/SG teeth don't center up close enough. So, with the Nova mount, you can slide the mount towards the rear a little to get a more perfect mesh.

well the clutch bell and bearings turned up today had to tanks of fuel through it to run it in on the bench so i might have it up and runing this weekend carnt wait to see what the engines like :FarleyParty:

I'm glad things are coming together for you, let us know how well she rips now with the new engine.....

well went out with joker and his dad yesterday and took the 25 with me put 2 more tanks through it running it at half throttle it was just a bit cold to start tuning it but it ran ok just need to sort the gearing out on the xl that i messed up:duh:
