I crack the fuel tank in my XL, no drama until I got back from the shop and noticed the tank was slightly different.
Part No 87031 when in fact it should of been 87149.

The main difference is the carby fuel line is mounted at the bottom of the tank instead of the top like the original.

The guy at the shop told me they suit all savage models and line at the bottom was to help with mid tank lean.

What I didn't ask is what is the little "black pump" on the top next to the fuel cap for?

U want the tank without the black primer they cause more problems, BUT it will get u by till u get the tank.

ya they stopped using those tanks awhile back i thought as there known for leaks and other problems, you definately want a primerless tank. I'm assuming you got your xl used?

Sorry Shaun I quite understand.

frddyj, will get some pics of in the morning for you.

I am fast learning not to believe half of what I hear from these hobby shops. Only one shop here in Western Australia had a tank, only not the right one as it turns out.

I had to order my OWB from East Coast of Australia, should of got the tank while I was at it.

Live a learn, again:duh:

yea, most times your better off getting your info & part #'s & bringing it to the LHS with you. LHS has 1 or 2 guys working with several different mfg's & models r/c where this site has thousands of guys field-testing all savage products every day 😛eace:
