don't be hard with me.... i know I'm gonna be a pain BUT i ran a few tanks through my X46 did not drive it really tho few weeks ago.
Now the weather is better i want to take it for a spin BUT how can i try and tune it when it wont keep running, i mean i can start it fine (its at factory settings) but as soon as i touch the throttle it will just stall, some times it would run for about 20 30 sec then just stall, i have read the tuning guides but i just cant seem to keep it running when i give it a touch of throttle, i have adjusted the idle but still not much difference, anyone point me to a fools guide for this TA...

At one point i think i overdid the idle cos soon as i started it i had to hang on to it big time or else it was gonna fly away real fast ( woke me up i,ll tell ya) I mean REAL FAST lol...

BE Nice..

Lean each needle (HSN & LSN) 3/4's of a turn (Clockwise). Start there you may also want to turn the idle up a tad as well which will keep the Idle RPM higher and will stay running better. Go give that a shot and come back and post the results.

Do you have a temp gun if so make sure the temps get up to around 200*F or it will not stay running.

cheers for the fast response i will have a go and get back later in the week now, busy working all week (wrong shift).

did you mean tune down idle, cause he says it is already trying to run away?

i tweaked with the idle, i know it opens the carb up but it never made much difference , i prob was doing it wrong way or not enough, I'm gonna take the filter off and check for the mm open, also i think i moved the trim on the controller alot and thats what made it try to fly like a bat, do you think i should set the trim up so its all the way down, its a std hpi hand controller so it hasn't got much in the way of marks on the trim, least i would know exactly where to put the trim, how do u guys do yours..?

well on mine which is the same stock radio, for starting i usually have the trim a bit past center "line on knob straight up" this speeds up the idle and makes it easier to start once its started and run for a few secs i turn it back to center "or till it makes no difference how far to the left you turn it" hope this helps!!!!!
