Does not shimming a motor correctly cause tuning problems? Also does a pipe to big cause tuning problems because there is not enough pressure to push the fuel ill have a picture up soon of the pipe?? My motor just bogs when i go full throttle?

What do you mean by shimming ? (head shims) ?

You might be too rich try leaning out the Highspeed needle

Shims don't caz "Huge" issues but do help if its right for the % nitro / Plug. This is all to vague to make a comment

Its a lrp .28 spec 2 with a turd hot bodies pipe. Runs a little better but still bogs when i go wot with it. If its a little warm out tomorrow i am gonna try and get a video of it. What are problems that could make it bog? improper break in? over heat?. Forgot to add it was about 35 degrees out i had the head wrapped also sits and idles nicely

I can't figure this thing out it idles perfectly and when going half throttle runs perfectly fine until i try going full throttle just wants to bog and if i hold it for to long just shuts off

If its 35 degrees out and you have the same tune you had when it was 70 or 80 degrees you definitely need to richen up your tune. When its cold you need more fuel because the air is denser.

Stock setting is for a new un-run mill... The hsn should be around 1 full turn in +... How much tuning EXP do you have? I ask only because I have seen member's diagnose air leak issues+ to kids that haven't a clue and say they can tune.. So honesty is key to help us help you!

Iv had the truck for almost 3 years now it used to have a k4.6 that i could tune in perfectly fine. This motor came sealed because i bought it used when i got it the the outside and inside looked to be also new. I haven't yet to be able to run this motor in warm weather. Thanks for help

NP tune it for smoke and speed just like you would in the warm. Then cover the head foil/sock to get the temps where they should be. Other than that the cold is not a issue. If your a guy that tunes with a temp gun (some do) your doomed. Lean out the HSN till it goes WOT as fast as it can with good smoke.. with that pipe leave the LSN a lil fat. Should not idle all day. Should choke out at 20-35 seconds

I know the LRP 3 does not like the HPI pipe and other than being 1 vers 2 piece They are the same as I have been told. I don't have a HB pipe so IDK. Nor have a seen a LRP 2. But this is my EXP with the LRP3 /HPI polish and all I can tell you.

I don't have a temp gun but i wish i did sometimes just to see how hot it is running. Ill try running it tomorrow if its not windy and let you know how it goes. I may be able to get a video of it if it still keeps doing it. Also whats the best way to wrap the head with the foil is there a certain way to do it?

I have just wrapped it around it like a piece of chicken in the past. As it got hot tore it to let in the cold air. Just keep a good eye on it. If it burns your finger its too hot. I can feel the range it should be in with my hand. You can also do spit tests but I have issues with spitting so..

well ran it today killed a glow plug and no matter were i put the needle just bogged but when the motor was warm i noticed nitro fuel bubbling out the pinch bolt. So i put some copper rtv on it after that couldn't get it started i know i was running it a little lean for a few minuets so it got pretty hot. Could that air leak cause me problems like that on the top end?

yep

Take off the pipe and air filter put a piece of fuel tube on it block the top of carb and exhaust ports with your fingers. and blow in it basting the mill with soppy water it will show you leaks.

I took the motor out the truck so i can clean it and do this air leak test and noticed my clutch bell bearings are shot probably wont be able to run for a while
