Cooling head protector

I see some guys are putting a guard on top of their cooling head. To me it looks like a piece of rubber. Can anyone tell me what it really is?

Some people cut fuel tubing lengthwise and then zip tie it on the cooling head.

But does that hold up to the high temps?

They are hard to find. I guess using fuel line would be ok.

Oh I'm sure it will be fine. Can't imagine fuel line melting on the cooling head.
